HEV is an abbreviation for hydrid electric vehicles. A hybrid vehicle will draw its power from the electric motor at low speeds. When a driver increases the speed the car needs more power and the hybrid will then switch to its ICE, internal combustion engine. The switch causes the car to change from electric power to gasoline power. The main Fuel source is still gasoline for this vehicle, but the amount of gasoline is less when compared to an ICE vehicle.
