SMART LIFTS THE WRAPS (AND ROOF!) OFF THE FOREASE CONCEPT
As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, Smart has lifted the wraps off the ForEase concept ahead of the Paris Motor Show.
According to the German-based automaker, this concept has been designed with Smart’s original motto, “reduce to the max”, in mind. And only the most “essential” items have been fitted to this model.
Contributing to its “pure” design, the roof has been removed, giving this car a speedster-looking body. A shorter windscreen offers resistance to wind and to open the doors, the ForEase is equipped with “seamlessly recessed” door handles. The car seen here is dressed in “dramatic” metallic-white paint and features “steam green” colour accents, visible on the wheels and headlamps.
The interior mimics the minimalist design language, too. The two central air vents has now been replaced by round displays. Like the exterior, “steam green” highlights are also present. And this colour is featured on the side bolsters of the seats, steering wheel and round the media console.
This car is developed on the same platform as the EQ ForTwo. And, like its electricity-powered stablemate, the ForEase is powered by an electric powertrain.
According to Smart, this concept “embodies a refreshingly simple form of driving fun in the city” and “promises a carefree driving experience”.
